Can I get a commission rebate directly from the Seller’s agent?
No. Properties on the MLS are listed by a real estate broker who can only pay a sales commission to other real estate brokers. It is important to note that One Hundred Percent (100%) of the sales commission is paid by the Seller to his real estate broker. Most listing contracts provide that the Seller must pay the full commission whether or not another broker is involved in the sale. So, in most cases, the purchase price will NOT be lower if you don’t have an agent.
